Things That We Do

The umbrella term for what we do is “strategic marketing services.” Since that could sound like business-speak or jargon, we’ll break it down into nice, chewy chunks.

Strategy.

Marketing is positioning a product, asset or individual to the external world, and executing a focused program toward a tangible goal. Doing so strategically – objectively assessing the attributes of the project or client and building a program to exploit those qualities – that’s what M+C specializes in. Strategy means taking the long view, planning for eventualities and always having a response ready. Strategy means acting with purpose, then reacting to changes in a thoughtful way.

Partnerships / Alliances.

Since M+C was founded – and from years of prior experience – we’ve specialized in forming and maintaining partnerships. Our clients benefit from our experience in strategically identifying, setting up, and maintaining sponsorships, partnerships and alliances. Relationship management is a delicate art (we have a rule at M+C: don’t work with jerks), but our skill at professional politics and broad understanding of business and different industries means we can offer excellent counsel to our clients.

PR / Media.

Everyone loves to read about themselves (when it’s in a positive light, of course). Media planning and public relations are a key component to any marketing program, and M+C has years of experience in the PR world. Having represented athletes, racing teams, entertainment/racing venues, authors and businessmen to all sorts of media, we have the soup-to-nuts* ability to wholly run media campaigns. And, when bad news rears its head, steer our clients through the PR minefield adeptly.

Identity and Brand Design

We’re not just another design shop that uses fancy words and abstractions to explain what logos and corporate identity should do. For a good example of the type of breathtaking pomposity that M+C decidedly DOESN’T do, check this out. (Seriously, it’s hilarious, have a peek.) What we actually do, however, is help design identities, logos and materials that support our clients needs in a clean, gorgeous manner. We lean heavily on a couple of very talented vendor partners for design, but our experience shepherding the process has given our clients some standout results. Here’s some examples:

Digital Marketing*.

Listen, if some consultant you hire starts talking about he’s going to use “the internet” to market your product or service, run far, far away. “Digital marketing*” is just code for a methodology for marketing an entity using a variety of methods – social marketing (e.g. Facebook, Twitter, guerilla/word-of-mouth campaigns), direct marketing, and web-savvy PR, among others. At M+C, we’re web natives*, meaning that we inherently think of marketing (and life) in terms of the entire spectrum of media – from iPhones to print magazines, HTML emails to street teams. Furthermore, we have experience working with all those media, and have the ability to execute marketing programs leveraging the best mix of all of them to meet the project’s needs.


*accept the warm, mushy embrace of jargon. let it calm your beleaguered corporate soul. jargon is not to be feared, just accepted and viewed with a healthy dose of skepticism.
